JV Baseball: The Concord Minutemen Ran Out of Time and Lost to the Dons, 6-1

During a pitching change for the Minutemen, the Dons have a brief pep talk

An early lead helped  Acalanes Dons defeat Concord Minutemen 6-1 on Saturday.   The Dons pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning.  In the second an error scored one run for Acalanes  and Nikko Woodson   singled on a 2-2 count with a superman dive to the first base, scoring one run to cross the plate. The Dons put up three runs in the fifth inning.  The Dons put the pressure on, lead by a single by Miller Smith, a groundout by Logan Mikalis, and a double by Sammy Lee.

Henry Souza got the start for the Dons on the mound. The lefty allowed four hits and one run over four innings, striking out three. Jake Boselli finished the game on the mound with allowing only one hit and two strikeouts. Lee, Woodson, Colin Norstad, Souza, and Smith each collected one hit to lead the Dons.  Runs scored by  Mason Michlitsch, Kyle Bielawski, Paul Kuhner, Boselli,  Smith,  and Lee.
