This started out and ended as a very close game – with the teams within 2 points of each other in the first two quarters, and then only 4 points apart at the end. The Dons were behind in the first quarter but really pushed ahead in the third quarter, scoring 15 points and limiting the Cougars to only one basket. This gave the Dons a 29-15 lead but then the Cougars really came on strong in the fourth quarter. The Cougars scored 16 points in the fourth (including four 3’s), so it was a very exciting game as the Dons were able to hold off Campo’s comeback. Acalanes lead scorers were Rebecca Christie with 15, Nikki McCarthy with 7 and Lucy Gellman with 6. This was a nice reversal of their last match when they were defeated by the Cougars 46-28.
