The JV Boys basketball team defeated Las Lomas High School last night by a final score of 45 to 40 to win their third game in a row. Following its winning formula of pressure defense and aggressive rebounding, the Dons matched their opponents scoring in the first quarter with 14 points and ended up the first half down a single point, 23-22, after an exciting back-and-forth second quarter. Coming out strong after halftime, the Dons surged ahead to a six-point lead heading into the fourth quarter and walked away with a gratifying five-point victory when it was all said and done. Big men Tyler Murphy and Yanaton Draznin led the team in scoring with 14 and 9 points, respectively, while Tate Nelson and Noah Bloch chipped in five points each. The Dons next play tomorrow night on the road against Miramonte High School at 5:30 pm in Orinda.
