In a game full of momentum swings, the Acalanes JV Boys Basketball team ended up on the losing end of the pendulum when they fell by a final score of 63 to 45 to Dublin High School on Monday at the the James “Chachi” Coral Memorial Basketball Tournament at San Ramon Valley High School. After sleep-walking through the first 7 1/2 minutes of the game, the Dons finally came to life at the end of the first quarter to turn a ten point deficit into a small, albeit short-lived, lead in the second quarter and ended the first half down by four, 24-20. Unfortunately, the energy which propelled them in the second quarter was nowhere to be found at the beginning of the second half as turnovers, spotty defense and careless fouls by the Dons allowed Dublin to push its slim halftime lead well into double-digit territory by midway through the 3rd quarter, after which they coasted to victory. Leading scorers for the Dons were Tyler Murphy with 11 and Jake James with 10. Kai Feinberg added 8. The JV Dons are now 6 and 6 on the season, with league play starting in January.
