If Baskets were Snowflakes, The Frosh Dons caused a Blizzard, 56-27

By passing, assisting, rebounds, stealing the ball, drawing fouls, forcing turnovers caused the Dons to take a win against Sir Francis Drake High School, 56 to 27. The Pirates of San Anselmo sailed into Acalanes looking for a mutiny, but the Dons blockaded their attempt.

The Pirates had to batten down the hatches against the Dons offense. Jack Bayless scored 15 for the Dons against the Pirates. Miller Smith and Bennett Dodge each scored 8 points, followed by 5 from Coco Gannon and Landon Best-Santos. Nathan Bennett and Colin Norstad add more to the Dons score. And, Zubin Acuna finished the game with a 3 pointer with family fans visiting from New York cheering him on from the stands.

The Don’s defense uses their voices, their eyes, their brains, their chests and their feet against their opponents. And it works! Their quick efforts disrupted the offensive plays of the Pirates. The Pirates were not able to get their ‘sea legs’ against the Dons and never took the lead.

The Dons head to Dougherty Valley High School for a Winter Tournament, the day after Christmas. Thursday, December 26 at 9am the Dons will face the Cal High Grizzles for their third time this season.

Swishing all a happy holiday!
