Acalanes JV Football beat Miramonte Friday night 49-0

The JV Don’s defense got it done again Friday holding Miramonte to just 40 total yards from scrimmage! 16 different players had a tackle, 5 of those tackles were for negative yards! Jon Clark had a interception that he ran back for 18 yards, and Ricky Ron caused a fumble that Evan Malmquist recovered. Ethan Rowland, Sam Hafner, Anthony Ortale and Logan Ketcham all had outstanding games – This defensive unit is fun to watch, they coordinate before, during, and after each play, trusting that their teammates will all know, and do, their jobs. The way the White Helmets swarm to the ball is very impressive!

The offense was efficient on Friday night, as usual! Quarterback Luke Souza was 6 of 8 passing, for 136 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Back up quarterback Conner McPhail got a lot of touches on the ball. Conner was a perfect 6 for 6 for 45 yards, and a touchdown strike. Dante Montgomery lead the ground game, with 11 carries for 48 yards and 1 touchdown, including a tough run up the middle that ended up with his helmet getting ripped off. Will Berrien lead the JV Don’s again this week in receiving yards, with 3 catches for 60 yards and 3 touchdowns, a perfect 3 for 3! Kyle White, Jack Wood and Evan Malmquist each had standout games on offense as well.

I am not sure if I mentioned in my post last week, that the Acalanes JV Football team beat Campolindo, so I will mention it again this week! That game, paired with Friday nights win over Miramonte, and the Acalanes JR Don’s get cross town bragging rights again this year! The JV Team wraps up their season next Friday against Alhambra at home, last chance to see this team in action, so come out and cheer them on as they attempt to complete their perfect season!
