With its 13-4 victory over Benicia HS, Acalanes Varsity moves to 20-2 on the season, and remains undefeated in League play at 9-0.
After a close 2-1 win over Benicia on Tuesday, the Dons came back with a decisive victory on Thursday by putting up 7 runs in the 3rd inning to move ahead 10-2. Acalanes tacked on 3 more runs over the 5th and 6th innings.
Davis Diaz (2B 2H R RBI), Sam Heyman (2H R 1RBI), Tommy Thrasher (2H 2R 2RBI) each had two hits in the game. Nick Kresnak (1H, R RBI), Scott Brydon (1H 1SB 2R 2RBI), Cole Murgia (2SB RBI), and Thatcher Hurd (1H 2R) also had offensive contributions against Benicia.
Pitching was solid on Thursday. Nick Kresnak got the start and the win (3IP 2H 1ER 5K), with Eddie Burns (3H 2ER 3K) and Michael Castelli (0H 0R 3K) each pitching 2 innings each out of the bullpen to lock down the victory.
Next week is the final week of League, as Acalanes plays a two-game series against second-place Clayton Valley Charter. Dons are home on Tuesday at 4pm.
