The Dons beat Campo again, this time by a score of 13-0. Acalanes outscored the Cougars 23-1 in the two-game series this week.
Eddie Burns anchored the Acalanes shutout with a commanding performance on the mound. Burns took the win for the Dons, pitching 6 innings and allowing just 1 hit among the 20 batters he faced. Michael Castelli came in to close out the 7th inning, allowing 1 hit and nothing else to keep the Cougars off the board and preserve the shutout.
Dons were swinging the bats on Thursday, racking up 13 runs on 16 hits. Cole Murgia led the way, going 4 for 5 with 4 RBI’s. Davis Diaz (2 RBI), Nick Kresnak (2 SB), Sam Heyman (SF, 1 RBI) and Brady Huchingson (2B, 2 RBI) each 2 hits on the day. Scott Brydon (1 RBI), David Sniderman, Tommy Thrasher (SF, 2 RBI) and Thatcher Hurd (1 RBI) also contributed with hits on the day.
Acalanes remains undefeated in League play at 8-0, and improves its season record to 18-2. The Dons next play a 2-game series against Benicia HS next Tuesday and Thursday.
