Boys track goes undefeated this season & Keaziah Smith sets the track on fire!

This past Wednesday, April 10th, we traveled to Miramonte for our final dual meet of the season. Our girls put on some great individual performances, but were unable to overcome Miramonte’s numbers and lost 72-55 despite a ton of PRs. Our boys topped Miramonte 80-56 to close out the regular season undefeated.

In another record setting day for our jumpers this season, Keaziah Smith produced what might have been the best dual meet performance in the history of our school:

  1. Keaziah broke the school record in the Long Jump with a jump of exactly 23 feet. The previous school record of 22 feet, 11 and ¾ inches had stood since 1966. It’s also the #1 mark in NCS this season.
  2. He ran the second leg on the Boys 4×100 relay team, leading them to 2nd all time at Acalanes with a time of 42.63, making them the first team to run under 43 seconds since 1982.
  3. His wind legal hundred time of 11.03 places him as 3rd all time in school history.
  4. He finished the day with a PR in the 200, running 22.61 to advance to 7th all time – not quite as good as his other events, but hey, maybe he was tired.

Congratulations Keaziah! Unfortunately, we don’t have video of his school record Long Jump, but here’s a video of him in the relay, courtesy of Marie Mlynek: https://vimeo.com/329725934
