The Dons came at College Park swinging on Tuesday afternoon, racking up 14 hits on the day to clench the 10-4 win. Tommy Thrasher led the onslaught, going 3 for 4 with 4 RBI’s, including a sweet 3-run homerun in the 6th. Timely hits and 2-out rallies throughout the game allowed the Dons to keep tacking on runs against a very solid College Park team.
Multiple Dons had great days at the plate: Davis Diaz (2H,2B,2R,2RBI), Nicolas Bamont (2H,1R,2RBI), Nick Kresnak (2H,2B,1R) & Peter Meade (2H,1R) all had multiple hits in the game. Cole Murgia (2R), Scott Brydon (2RBI), and Brady Huchingson (2B,1R) each had one hit.
Logan Hurd got the start and the win for the Dons, going 3 innings and allowing 3 runs while striking out 4. Eddie Burns pitched the next 4 innings, allowing just 1 run while striking out 3. Pitching held off a strong College Park team at the plate. Good defense and hot Acalanes bats did the rest.
