Acalanes beat Northgate 48-0 in its Homecoming game on Friday night. The Dons were led by their defense which overpowered Northgate from start to finish. Nick Pearson and Cole Murgia each returned an interception for a touchdown and linebackers Mike O’Donnell and Tommy Thrasher blitzed their way into the Broncos’ backfield all night long. The Dons’ secondary locked down Northgate’s receivers in man to man defense and the linemen and linebackers were constantly in the face of Northgate’s QB.
After a slow start, Acalanes’ offense clicked into gear with QB Nick Kresnak passing to wide receivers Chris Rogers and Lucas Eppinger for TDS and RBs Jake Delaney, Yahya Qteishat and Keaziah Smith contributing rushing TDs.
Acalanes (3-4) travels to Campolindo (5-2) for a big rivalry game next Friday.
