The Freshman Dons Football had another strong week with a convincing win over Oakland High with a final score of 56-24. The game started off by a 70-yard kick off return for a TD by none other than Evan Malmquist. Evan was once again a one-man wrecking crew on both sides of the ball, as he had 3 TD’s (1 receiving, 1 running, 1 kick off return) as well as several tackles on defense. Luke Souza was near perfect at 14-16 passing for 167 yards for 2 TDs. Miles Bergman had 3 receptions for 44 yards and 1 TD. Will Berrien had some incredible catches in the middle of the field for huge gains on offense. Dante Montgomery had a stellar performance with 2 rushing TDs and several tackles on defense. Rhett Skvarna made all of his PAT’s, and also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD.
Will Berrien
The highlight of the game was when Jon Clark ran the ball across the goal line for his first touchdown of the season!
Miles Bergman
The defense, led by Logan Ketchum, Sam Hafner and Devon Miniello, stymied the Oakland High offense. 18 different players had tackles!!! The defense continues to be dominant making it hard on offenses to run or throw the ball. Way to go!
Next Thursday, the Dons will travel to Fremont to play against Kennedy High School. This will be their final game of what has been an incredible season.
