The Freshman Dons football team got back to their winning ways on Thursday night, routing the Alhambra Bulldogs 42-6. It was a true team effort, as both the offense and defense were superb.
On offense, Miles Bergman was a force on the field, pulling down 6 receptions for 81 yards and 4 receiving TDs. Luke Souza threw for 126 yards and 3 TDs. Rhett Skvarna had 1 rushing TD, was 4-4 on PATs, and had 3 carries for 42 yards. Evan Malmquist also had a rushing TD. Connor McPhail made an amazing pass under pressure to Miles Bergman for his first TD of the season.
On defense, stellar play by all. The defense held the Bulldogs to under 100 total yards of offense. 17 different Dons had tackles. Evan Malmquist led the team with 4 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles and 2.5 sacks for -30 yards. James Gunn had an incredible interception. Truman Smith, Lukas Ross, and Anthony Ortale all had .5 sacks.
Next Thursday at 5pm at Acalanes, the Dons will take on Campolindo.
