The Acalanes Cross Country team participated in the 35th Annual P-Wilder Mariners Invitational at Hayward High School. All races at this event were 3 miles and were run on the same course that will be used for the State Qualifying NCS Championships on November 17. The course was mostly flat and fast, and there were some outstanding results.
Most notable was the fourth place finish of the Boys Frosh/Soph Team. The team was lead by Sam Roth (10) and Dominic Basaldua (10) who finished 1st and 2nd in this race. The team finished with an impressive score of 103 points missing 3rd place by only 1 point, 2nd place by only 8 points and 1st place by only 15 points. Great job by the Boys Frosh/Soph Team.
Not to be out done was the the Girls Frosh/Soph team. Despite running only a partial team of 4 runners, all four runners earned medals by finishing in the top 50 finishers. Nicole Frigon (10) lead the team with a 1st Place win in this race. Elle Cassleman (9), Caroline Crossland(9) and Taylor Hill (10) earned medals by finishing 16th, 17th, and 37th respectively. A great race by these girls.
