JV Volleyball Takes Down Campo

The JV Women’s Volleyball team came out swinging tonight displaying a Think Pink attitude to raise awareness of breast cancer and a Cougar attack on their minds.  At 1-0 Outside Hitter, Sophie Foster had her first a many kills during the match.  Opposite Hitter, Chloe Lockwood showed up strong tonight with her first cross court kill at 2-1.  Libero, Jasmine Frost. served her first ace of the night as the Dons and the Cougars battled point for point in the first part of the set.  Designated Server, Emma Lorge came in to serve up an ace to tie it up at 7-7.  Again, Chloe Lockwood hit her first of several out of system kills to give the Dons a 10-9 lead.  As “fear the BLUE” erupted from Volleyball’s favorite fan Jane Smith, Designated Server, Mia Iams served up two points to up the Dons lead.  The Dons right side made a huge impact with a couple kills from Chloe and then one from Opposite Hitter, Maddie Bacon that upped the Dons lead to 15-11.  Cougars tried to claw their way back and at 21-19 setter, Eva McGrath set up Chloe for yet another kill.

21-19 was an epic rally highlighted by a one handed WAY off the court save by Outside Hitter, Mika Bocobo, it seemed like every girl on the court touched the ball during that rally. The Dons were up 23-21 when  Mika Bocobo then did a beautiful dump into an open hole…24-23.  Dons take the first set 25-23.

Second set started off exciting with two great blocks by Middle Blocker, Dulci Vail.  At 8-7 Mika Bocobo with a kill that drops just at the baseline.  Point for point back and forth until EmmaLorge comes in and practically aces her way to 16-12.  We love that.  Dons win 25-22.

Last game of the season is Thursday vs Miramonte-Go Dons!
