Acalanes welcome two teams to our football field this Saturday. Varsity and JV will match up with the Los Lomas Knights and the Frosh team will go head to head with Alhambra Bulldogs.

Varsity Kick off 7pm at Home against Los Lomas
The JV team showed Monte Vista, who was boss by leading the Mustangs the entire game with a final score of 28-7. Saturday the JV team will meet the Los Lomas Knights. The Las Lomas JV football team won Friday against Northgate by a score of 31-0. Los Lomas did not have a Frosh team last year, so the JV Dons are anxious to face the sophomore and freshman Knights on the Don’s turf. The Dons feel they will have the edge on Saturday Wide Receiver Ethan Torres believes in his brothers of the Blue, “I think we can exploit their DBs by throwing the ball deep more often. We will make it happen.”

The Frosh Dons beat Monte Vista last weekend as well, 20-14. And the Frosh teams love the feeling of winning (who doesn’t?!) and they plan to keep that feeling flowing as they host Alhambra. #2 Colin Malmquist trusts the Dons program, “We need to follow the game plan that the coaches have put together. We all need to know our jobs and to it as best we can,” he added, in, “trust your teammates and work together!” #4 Jake Boselli has his eyes on a win, he shares, “Our coaches have told us to go out and have fun, don’t be afraid to make mistakes and be aggressive. If we can achieve all these things we will be great. Every kid on our team has been putting in work to help our team get better, this is why I’m confident we will win.“

The Don fans still limited to household family members only. Parents and siblings will wear their Dons hat, sweatshirts, and t-shirts and will feel BLUE, as we scream, yell, get heated, and love every second of it. We love being part of the Dons community because of the camaraderie we share, and the pride it instills in our boys. It’s exhilarating, fun and awesome to watch our men of blue play their hearts out.
