Nov 29 – Soccer results, today’s games

In yesterdays action…
The boys soccer team opened the Acalanes Invitational with a 6-0 victory over Kennedy HS of Richmond.  Austin deBack scored 2 goals, Aidan Maguire scored 1 goal and had 2 assists, Max Mirner scored 1 goal and had 1 assist, Sina Bagheri and Dan Glascock each scored 1 goal, Graham Lindgren and Ben Croze each had an assist, and Jacob Carroll was named the team’s Man of the Match.

In todays action…
The boys soccer team hosts American HS in the second round of the Acalanes Invitational at 4:30.
The boys basketball team plays at San Rafael HS.  JV at 5:30, and varsity at 7:00.
The girls basketball team plays at Hercules HS.  JV at 5:30, and varsity at 7:00.

Nov 26 – State Cross Country Championships

The girls cross country team finished 7th in the CIF State Cross Country Championships, Division 3, held in Fresno on Saturday. The finishing order for the team (overall finish) was Annie Marggraff (14th), Kelly Collins (50th), Amy Hollshwandner (53rd), Tara Bozzini (83rd), Kelli Berge (90th), Caith Wright (140th) and Kyra Ruegg (170th).  Kelly Collins improved by 2:18 over her time in last year’s state championships.

Tyler Troxel finished 18th overall, improving by 27 sec over his time last year at the state championships and is now 2nd on the Acalanes All-Time list for the state course.

Nov 27 – Thanksgiving Break Results

Over the Thanksgiving Break.
Saturday, November 19, the girls cross country team finished in 2nd place in division 3 at the NCS Meet of Champions.  Annie Marggraff placed 3rd, Amy Hollshwandner 4th, Kelly Collins 8th, Tara Bozzini 9th, Kelly Berge 27th, Caith Wright 44th, and Kyra Ruegg 46th.  The boys team finished 7th.  Tyler Troxel placed 5th, Michael Wang 44th, Keenan Byrne 46th, and Marshall Crawford 50th.
Tuesday, November 22, the boys and girls basketball teams defeated Berean Christian HS in the NCS Scholarship Foundation Games.
Wednesday, November 23, the boys basketball team edged out the Alumni team by 3 points.
Saturday, November 26, the girls cross country team finished in 7th place in division 3 at the CIF State Championships led by Annie Marggraff placing 14th, Kelly Collins 50th and Amy Hollshwandner 53.  Tyler Troxel also qualified and placed 18th.
Saturday, November 26, the boys basketball team defeated Oakland Tech HS 73-55.  Kevin Huber scored 26 points, with 5 3-pointers, Noah Orlik 23 points, with 1 3-pointer, Trevor Masland 10 points, with 1 3-pointer, James Griffin had 8 rebounds to go with his 6 points, and Buster Souza 7 rebounds and 6 points.

Nov 19 – NCS Cross Country Championships

The girls team placed 2nd at NCS Division 3 and qualify for State Championships next weekend in Clovis (near Fresno). Also qualifying for the State Championships as individual runner was Tyler Troxel. The boys team placed 7th in Division 3.

Annie Marggraff finished a strong 3rd place with Amy Hollshwandner right behind in 4th.  The rest of the team followed close behind with Kelly Collins (8th), Tara Bozzini (9th), Kelli Berge (27th), Caith Wright (44th) and Kyra Ruegg (47th).  With their performances, Annie, Amy, Kelly and Tara are now in the top 5 on the Acalanes All-Time list for the Hayward HS course.  Tyler is now 2nd on the All-Time list.

New personal records were recorded by:  Annie (0:40), Amy (0:22), Kelly (1:14), Tara (0:31), Tyler (0:28), Keenan Byrne (0:14), and Scott Bertics (0:12).

Nov 18 – Cross Country Results in NCS Meet of Champions

The cross country teams competed in the NCS Meet of Champions at the division 3 level with great success. The girls finished 2nd as Annie Marggraff finished in 3rd place, Amy Hollshwandner 4th, Kelly Collins 8th, Tara Bozzini 9th, Kelli Berge 27th, Caith Wright 44th, and Kyra Ruegg 46th. The boys finished 7th as Tyler Troxel finished in 5th place, Michael Wang 44th, Keenan Byrne 46th, and Marshall Crawford 50th.

Saturday, November 19
The cross country team competes in the NCS Meet of Champions at Hayward HS.
The boys basketball team hosts Castro Valley HS in a scrimmage.  Freshmen at 10:00, jv at 11:30, varsity at 1:00.
The freshman boys soccer team hosts Deer Valley HS at 10:00.

Tuesday, November 22
The boys basketball team hosts Berean Christian HS in the NCS Foundation Game.  Freshmen at 4:00, jv at 5:30, varsity at 7:00.
The girls basketball team plays at Berean Christian HS in the NCS Foundation Game at 6PM (time changed).

Wednesday, November 23
The basketball teams host the Alumni Games.  Girls at 5:30, boys at 7:00.

The boys soccer team host the Alumni Game at 5:00.
The girls basketball team hosts Skyline HS in a scrimmage.  JV at 11:00, Varsity at 1:00.
