JV Boys Basketball comes up short against San Lorenzo HS

In Tuesday night’s thriller which ended in frustration, the JV Boys Basketball team fell 72 to 70 to San Lorenzo HS when a highly debatable blocking foul was called with one second remaining in a tie game. After numerous lead changes, the game was tied at 70 when incidental contact was whistled as a foul against the Dons to give San Lorenzo two free throws to win game. Frustration with the call also led to a technical foul against the Dons which meant San Lorenzo ended the game with four free throw attempts, converting two to seal the victory. The Dons had four players scoring in double digits, led by Tyler Murphy and Jake James with 14, Yannaton Draznin with 13 and Nate Cheslog with 12. The JV team next plays on Friday against Alhambra HS at 3:30 in the Cal High JV Tournament in San Ramon.
