Girls Varsity Soccer Shuts out Hayward 3-0

The girl’s varsity soccer team traveled to Hayward on Friday night. The conditions were not ideal…heavy rain and wind.

The Dons dominated possession and had several shots on goal. Hayward’s goalkeeper had some tremendous saves. Around the 28-minute mark, Junior Olivia Parnell sent a fabulous ball to the other side of the field where Senior Eliza Parry was able to control the pass and crossed it to the center to Senior Gabby Ortale to make the score 1-0. Freshman Tatum Zuber found fellow Freshman Addie Bailey with a beautiful ball over the backline and Addie was able to convert to make the score 2-0 at half.

In the second half, the Dons again dominated possession but couldn’t score due to several offsides calls. Around the 20 minute mark, Senior Maile Broad made a great pass to Gabby Ortale who then deflected the ball to Junior Emily Keeler on the wing and Emily found the back of the net to make the score 3-0.

The Dons will host College Park at 7pm on Tuesday night, then will travel across town to face last year’s State Champions Miramonte in what should be a very good game.

Go DONS!
