Varsity Swim FINALS at DAL Championships

Your DONS swim team finished strong this weekend at the DAL swim championships held at Campo. We had some first time ever NCS qualifiers as well as several swimmers posting personal bests.  The girls team qualified finalists in every event. Top 8 finishers were Emily Gebhardt (1st in both 200 and 500 free), Shelby Suppiger (1st in 100 breast, 3rd 200 IM), Jewel Roemer (3rd 200 Free, 5th 100 free), Vanessa Watts (3rd 100 breast, 8th 200 IM), Heidi Heffelfinger (3rd in 500 free).  Both of the girls free relays finished 2nd – 200 relay- Gebhardt, Suppiger, Roemer, Claire Rowell, and 400 relay – Gebhardt, Suppiger, Roemer, Alex Fellner.  The boys team was lead by Will Nagle (12th 50 free, 15th 100 free), Dean Goodson (13th 100 fly), Jay Mills (14th 200 free), Luke Hall (14th 500 free), and senior Colby Suppiger (16th 100 back).

This weekend swimmers & divers advance to NCS based on qualifying times. NCS takes the top 40 swimmers in each event to qualify for the meet, held Friday 5/3 and Sat 5/4 at Cowell pool in Concord. Congratulations to the following DONS who have met a consideration or automatic time for the NCS Championships for either a relay or individual swim: Beth Daughters, Alex Fellner, Daphne Ganter, Emily Gebhardt, Heidi Heffelfinger, Mary Beth Heffelfinger, Ava MacKay, Anna McCarthy, Jewel Roemer, Claire Rowell, Lexi Rowell, Caroline Schirmer, Shelby Suppiger, Kylie Walker, Vanessa Watts, Laurel White, Dean Goodson, Will Nagle, Colby Suppiger. 2 Acalanes DIVERS have also qualified for NCS: Alexia Dunlavey and Jacqueline Samaniego.
