Varsity Women’s Soccer Edges out Ygnacio Valley

On Friday night, the Varsity Women’s Soccer team beat Ygnacio Valley 3-2. About 10 minutes into the first half, the Dons struck first when KK McDonagh made a great cross and Sasha Sadoff was there to put the ball in the net. YV came back several minutes later to tie it up 1-1. But within one minute after YV scored, Sasha Sadoff made a beautiful cross and Eliza Parry scored to put the Dons back on top, 2-1.

In the second half, YV took advantage of a rare defensive mistake to tie it up 2-2. But the Dons kept pressing. The Dons had several chances, with a few shots hitting the goal posts. With about 10 minutes left in the game, Ellie Meyer found Beth Daughters in front of the goal to give the Dons the lead and ultimately the win at 3-2.

The Dons will travel to Martinez next Wednesday to take on Alhambra in a highly anticipated match-up.
