Women’s Varsity Soccer Ties Campo 0-0

It was a battle on Thursday night, as expected.  The Dons played against a very skilled and aggressive Cougar team.  The first half started slow for the Dons, as the Cougars offense was putting pressure on the Dons defense for most of the first half.  Kate Carter had an incredible save early in the first half, keeping the score 0-0.

The second half was a different story.  The offense was finding their groove and had more opportunities.  The momentum seemed to be in the Dons favor.  Sasha Sadoff took a hard shot on goal that ricocheted off the goalie…Maile Broad was there to put the ball into the back of the net but the ref called Maile offsides.  A very questionable and frustrating call.

The Dons defense was again incredibly solid.  Outstanding play by Sami Hansen and Aliye Wingate in the back line, Ivy Souza, Megan Go and Gabby Ortale in the midfield.

The Dons will play tonight at 7pm at home against Piedmont.

Go DONS!
