FRESHMAN DONS BASKETBALL COMEBACK FALLS SHORT

The Dons had a slow start to the game (their first of the season), but once they started to become more aggressive, they started to score. Though they finished the first quarter down 6-13, they started driving to the basket in the second quarter, and some timely baskets and free throws brought the score to 21-27 at halftime.  Foothill continued to shoot well in the 3rd quarter while the Dons really cooled off.  Scoring only 6 points in the quarter with 3 free throws and one made 3 pointer.  After 3 quarters, Foothill’s lead had stretched to 27-39. The Dons really stepped up the pressure in the 4th quarter, pulling out of their half court zone and pressing full court. Aggressive drives by several players led to some easier baskets and several free throws. While the game ended with the Dons losing 46-51, they drastically increased the energy level and outscored Foothill by 19-12 in the 4th quarter. Noah Block led the team with 19 points followed by Nate Cheslog with 12.
