Dons JV Volleyball Stays Hot, Takes Care of Alhambra

The Dons long roadtrip continued Thursday at Alhambra. After a close start the team ran off 9 straight points with setter Sarah Coons serving and pins Tate Huisingh, Lyla Cox and Lauren Davis providing early offense. Specialists Audrey Passalaqua and Emma Johnson along with Libero Sydney Sowarby were able to handle the Bulldog hitting with ease throughout the first set and the Dons pulled away 25-15.  Superfan Scott Sowarby referred to the first set as “riveting” while local dad Gary Huisingh gave the performance 1.5 thumbs up.

The second set began with Daisy Sibley in at Libero and a nice pass from her led to a quick Kylie Wood kill. The set started a bit closer but again Acalanes pulled away in a series that featued middle Alara Rose stuffing an overpass and some nice sets from Aisha Mohanty including another crushed ball Kylie. Outside Makenzie Sauer put together a few serves the extend the lead while the defensive pair of Daisy and Maren Takeuchi kept the Dons in possession. Eventually the Dons brought it home 25-18. Good work Dons!
