Nov 1 – Golf Results

In yesterdays action…
The girls golf team competed in the NCS Championships, and Elizabeth Schultz shot a 76, which missed qualifying for the NorCal Championships by just one stroke.  Lauren Kim shot a 78, and Adrienne Lee shot an 85.

In todays action…
The girls volleyball team hosts Miramonte HS.  Freshmen at 4:00, jv at 5:00, and varsity at 6:30.

October 18 – Interview with Elizabeth Schultz – Women’s DFAL MVP

Just two and a half years after she picked up her first putter, Sophomore Elizabeth Schultz has won the 2011 DFAL Championship. On October 17, Schultz shot a 75, 8 strokes ahead of the second place finisher. Schultz was also named the DFAL’s most valuable golfer for this year. She now turns her focus to the NCS and state tournaments. We had a chance to interview Schultz about her success thus far this season and her goals for the future.

Oct 18 – Tuesday Sports Diablo Foothills Athletic League MVP in Girls Golf

In yesterdays action…
At the DFAL Girls Golf Championships, Elizabeth Schultz had the best round shooting 75 outdistancing the nearest competitor by 8 strokes.  Lauren Kim finished 6th overall, and Adrienne Lee 7th.

In todays action…
The boys water polo team hosts San Ramon Valley HS.  Varsity at 4:00, jv at 5:00.
The girls volleyball team plays at Campolindo HS.  Freshmen at 4:00, jv at 5:00, varsity at 6:30.
The girls tennis team has a match at Alhambra HS at 3:30.

All-DFAL…
Elizabeth Schultz was named the DFAL MVP for girls golf.  Lauren Kim and Adrienne Lee were first team selections.

Oct 15 – Monday Sports – Acalanes Football and Golf results

In Fridays action…
The football team capped off homecoming week with a victory over Alhambra HS 28-27.  The jv team also won 28-19.

In todays action…
The girls golf team competes in the DFAL Championships at Lone Tree GC at 10:00AM.

Oct 13 – Water Polo, Golf, and Tennis Results

In yesterdays action…
The boys water polo team defeated Campolindo HS 15-11 to remain undefeated in the DFAL.
The girls water polo team was defeated by Campolindo HS.
The girls tennis team defeated Berean Christian HS 6-3.
The girls golf team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 248-165 to raise their record to 9-3.

In todays action…
The girls volleyball team hosts Las Lomas HS.  Freshmen at 4:00, jv at 5:00, and varsity at 6:30.
The girls tennis team hosts Dougherty Valley HS at 3:30.  The jv team is away.
The freshman football team plays at Alhambra HS at 5:00.

Yesterdays individual standouts…
Acalanes Boys water polo – Tanner Cullen scored 7 goals, and Connor Reid and Andrew Schnugg each scored 3 goals. Tucker Stone had 7 saves.
Acalanes Girls water polo – Molly Quinn and Megan Dietrich each scored 2 goals, and Katie Ramm had 4 saves.
Acalanes Girls tennis – Tessa Karagocev, Grace Chow, and Tara Barabi won singles matches. Rachel Bauer & Connie Chen, Alice Bishop & Julie Zucker, and Jenny Yang & Amy Liu won doubles matches.
Acalanes Girls golf – Elizabeth Schultz shot a 37, Adrienne Lee 41, and Lauren Kim 45 on a 9-hole par 36 course.

Acalanes girls golf team won their match yesterday against Miramonte.

This was a great win. We usually do not beat Miramonte on their home course , Orinda CC. Acalanes is now 8-3 with one match to go. That match will be with Dougherty Valley next Wednesday October 12 at Rossmoor

Oct 7 – Friday Sports – Football, volleyball, and golf results

In Thursdays action…

The football team was defeated by Campolindo HS.  The jv team was defeated also.
The girls volleyball team was defeated by Miramonte HS.  The jv and freshman teams were victorious.
The girls golf team was defeated by by Miramonte HS.

In Fridays action…

The boys water polo team competes in the Southern California Invitational in Irvine.

In Saturdays action…

The cross country team competes in the Clovis Invitational at Woodward Park in Fresno at 9:00 am.
The non-varsity cross country team competes in the Crystal Springs Invitational at Crystal Springs Reservoir in San Mateo at 9:00 am.
The boys water polo team competes in the Southern California Invitational in Irvine.
The jv girls volleyball team competes in the Wolverine Invitational at Deer Valley HS.
The freshman girls volleyball team competes in the Northgate tournament.
The frosh-soph girls water polo team competes in the Alhambra tournament.

Oct 6 – Water Polo and Girls Golf results

In yesterdays action…
The boys water polo team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 19-1 to remain undefeated in the DFAL, and raising their overall record to 12-3.
The girls water polo team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 18-1 to remain undefeated in the DFAL, and raising their overall record to 11-3.
The girls golf team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 246-267 to raise their DFAL record to 7-3.

The football team hosts Campolindo HS.  JV at 4:30, varsity at 7:00.
The girls volleyball team plays at Miramonte HS.  Freshmen at 4:00, jv at 5:00, varsity at 6:30.
The girls tennis team hosts Las Lomas HS at 3:30.
The girls golf team has a match against Miramonte HS at Orinda CC at 3:30.

Boys water polo – Nathaniel Whitmore, Jacob Welcomer, and Wyatt Goertler each scored 4 goals, Jack Hillman 3 goals, and Andrew Forbes 2 goals.

Girls water polo – Alyssa Mueller scored 3 goals, Caroline Newman, Emma Gaffney, Sami Sciacqua, and Chase Lanier each scored 2 goals. Megan Mes and Whitney Hickock each had 4 saves.

Girls golf – Elizabeth Schultz shot a 40, and Lauren Kim 45 over a 9-hole course.

Sep 28 – Water Polo and Golf Results

In yesterdays action…
The boys water polo team defeated Alhambra HS 18-11, with a strong 2nd half surge.
The girls water polo team overwhelmed Alhambra HS 14-2.  The jv team matched that effort with a 15-3 victory.
The girls golf team defeated Campolindo HS 245-258, and Las Lomas HS 245-311.

Individual standouts…

Boys water polo Tanner Cullen scored 8 goals, and Connor Reid, Jacob Welcomer, and Tommy Bush each scored 2 goals. Tucker Stone had 6 saves.
Girls golf           Elizabeth Schultz shot a 39, and Adrienne Lee 40 on a 9-hole par 36 course.

The girls golf team split defeating Alhambra HS 238-320, and being defeated by Dublin HS 229 to 238.

Girls golf Elizabeth Schultz shot a 38, Lauren Kim 42, and Adrienne Lee 44 on a 9-hole, par 36 course.

Sep 13 – Girls Golf – Las Lomas Results

Acalanes girls had a match with Las Lomas. Las Lomas had only four players so we used our four low scores. Acalanes 173  Las Lomas 240.
