Sep 28 – Water Polo and Golf Results

In yesterdays action…
The boys water polo team defeated Alhambra HS 18-11, with a strong 2nd half surge.
The girls water polo team overwhelmed Alhambra HS 14-2.  The jv team matched that effort with a 15-3 victory.
The girls golf team defeated Campolindo HS 245-258, and Las Lomas HS 245-311.

Individual standouts…

Boys water polo Tanner Cullen scored 8 goals, and Connor Reid, Jacob Welcomer, and Tommy Bush each scored 2 goals. Tucker Stone had 6 saves.
Girls golf           Elizabeth Schultz shot a 39, and Adrienne Lee 40 on a 9-hole par 36 course.

In todays action…
The girls volleyball team hosts Alhambra HS.  Freshmen at 4:00, JV at 5:00, Varsity at 6:30.
The girls tennis team has a match at Miramonte HS at 3:30.
The jv girls golf team has a match against Campolindo HS at Moraga CC at 3:00.
The freshman football team hosts Miramonte HS at 5:00.

September 27 – Freshman Girls Volleyball Team Beats Dougherty Valley

 Acalanes Freshman Girls Volleyball defeated Dougherty Valley Tuesday, winning in two sets 25-15, 25-13.

The first set showed clearly the Lady Dons came to win. Acalanes took the lead early and never gave it up. Service Aces by Taylor Odom, Holly Gillar, Holly Fleischmann, and Katie McCarty launched the offensive. Kills by Dana Piercy, Alta Paladino, Odom and Fleischmann, along with a beautiful back row kill by Ying Stroebe kept the momentum on the side of the Dons. Defense kept the Wildcats at bay with blocks by Fleischmann and a diving save by Claire Amaral. Lily Bauer‘s final floating serve ended the set 25-15. Read more

In yesterdays action…
The girls volleyball team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 25-13, 26-24, 25-12.  Tyanna Roy had 12 kills and 6 digs.  Brooke Aiello had 7 kills and 8 digs.  Marie Teichman had 5 kills, 3 aces and 2 digs.

In todays action…
The water polo teams host Alhambra HS.  JV girls at 4:00, Varsity girls at 5:00, Varsity boys at 6:00, JV boys at 7:00.

Sep 26 – Boys Water Polo Results

NCS/CCS Challenge Tournament

The Acalanes Boys water polo team garnered 2nd Place at the 3rd Annual NCS/CCS Challenge tournament held Sept. 23rd-24th. The Dons beat Lelend, Menlo Atherton and De la Salle before losing a tough battle to the San Ramon Valley Wolves in the finals 8-6.

Leading scorers throughout the weekend were Seniors Tanner Cullen and Andrew Schnugg, and junior Connor Reid. Stellar defense was shown by sophmores Tommy Bush and goalie Tucker Stone, along with seniors Connor Mattox, Jake Seroy, and Naddy Whitmore.

The girls tennis team defeated Alhambra HS 8-1.
The girls volleyball team played inspired despite falling to Campolindo HS.
The girls golf team was edged out by Campolindo HS 247-254.
The freshman football team tied Vintage HS 14-14.

In Fridays action…
The football team hosts Healdsburg HS.  JV at 4:30, varsity at 7:00.
The boys water polo team competes in the Richison/St. Francis tournament at Acalanes HS & the South Bay.
The girls water polo team competes in the Woodcreek Invitational.

The cross country team competes in the Stanford Invitational at Stanford GC at 9:00.
The boys water polo team competes in the Richison/St. Francis tournament at Acalanes HS & the South Bay.

The girls volleyball team competes in the Wolverine Freshman Invitational at Deer Valley HS.

Connie Chen & Rachel Bauer, and Tessa Low & Alina Yang won doubles matches.

Kendall Baker had 4 kills and 2 blocks.
Brooke Aiello had 5 kills.

Girls golf              Elizabeth Schultz shot a 38, Lauren Kim 41, and Adrienne Lee 43 on a 9-hole par 35 course.
