December 2nd – Boys soccer

Nov 29,2010
For their first official game of the 2010-2011 season, the Dons comfortably defeated Northgate 3-0 in the Winter Soccer Classic Tournament. A quick goal from senior Max Omick after just two minutes of play launched the festivities. Fifteen minutes later, junior and co-captain Dylan Autran added a second goal on an assist from sophomore Dan Glascock. Same story in the second half with Autran scoring the third and final goal for Acalanes following a powerful shot from senior David Helfrich initially blocked by the Northgate goalkeeper. Junior GK Jackson Foote did his part with six saves to keep a clean sheet. The second game of the tournament is tomorrow night vs Heritage at home (7:30pm).

For their second game of the Winter Soccer Classic, the Dons came from behind to tie 2-2 a solid Heritage (Brentwood) team. Down two goals after thirty minutes, Acalanes responded in the first half with an accurate shot from freshman Max Mirner (assisted by senior Max Omick) then had to wait until the end of the game to score the second with an audacious shot, in a very difficult angle, from senior David Helfrich (sophomore Graham Lindgren assist). Next game for the Dons (1-0-1) is this Thursday at home vs DeAnza (7:30pm kick-off).
