Dons v. Dublin

Lady Dons fought hard and out played 3rd place Dublin, but suffered another tough league loss to close out the regular season, as nothing would drop through the hoop for the Lady Dons most of the night.  Acalanes 37—Dublin 54.

Feb 16 – Soccer Results

In Wednesdays action…
The boys soccer team’s great season came to an end as they fell 1-0 to St. Mary’s HS in the NCS playoffs.

In Thursdays action…
The basketball teams play Dublin HS.
At Dublin HS. JV girls at 4:00, varsity girls at 5:30, varsity boys at 7:00.
At Acalanes HS. JV boys at 4:00, freshman boys at 5:30.

In Saturdays action…
The wrestling team competes in the DFAL Championships at Dublin HS.

In Mondays action…
The baseball team has a scrimmage against College Park HS at 12:15. Varsity is home and jv is away.

Feb 15 – Basketball Results, 1st round NCS Soccer

In yesterdays action…
The boys basketball team defeated Miramonte HS 63-54.
The girls basketball team was defeated by Miramonte HS.

In todays action…
The boys soccer team is the #1 seed and will host St. Mary’s HS at 7:00 in the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs.  General admission is $9, and students with student body cards, children and senior citizens are $6.

Yesterdays individual standouts…
Boys basketball James Griffin scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds. Buster Souza scored 12 points and had 14 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
Girls basketball Sophie Taylor scored 15 points.

Boys Varsity Soccer Another DFAL title and a #1 seed for the Dons!

In this last week of the regular season, the Dons clinched a second consecutive DFAL title (their 3rd in four years!) and earned a #1 seed for the North Coast Section Championship. On Monday, they tied an always competitive Bishop O’Dowd squad 1-1. One goal down since the beginning of the game, the Acalanes players worked hard to come back and were rewarded 5 minutes before time by Austen Grassini (Aidan Maguire assist).

The boys soccer team was defeated by Dublin HS.
The girls soccer team was defeated by Dublin HS.

NCS Soccer Playoffs…
The boys soccer team is the #1 seed in the North Coast Section playoffs, and will host St. Mary’s HS Wednesday at 7:00.  There is a charge at all NCS playoff events.  General admission is $9, and students with student body cards, children and senior citizens are $6.

In yesterdays action…
The boys soccer team defeated Miramonte HS 2-0 to claim their 3rd DFAL title in the last 4 years.  They boast an overall record of 12-1-8, and a DFAL record of 8-0-3.
The girls soccer team pummeled Miramonte HS 4-0.

Boys soccer        Aiden Maguire scored a goal assisted by Max Mirner, and George Walker scored a goal and was named “Man of the Match.”

Feb 8 – Girls Basketball Stats

Olivia Murphy had her best game of the year, and the Lady Dons defeated their former coach and the Alhambra Lady Bulldogs for the third time this season with a great overall team effort and overcoming shooting 11 for 23 from the free throw line.

The boys basketball team defeated Alhambra HS 74-47.
The girls basketball team defeated Alhambra HS 55-38.

The girls soccer team hosts Miramonte HS.  They will have their Senior Night Presentation at 5:45 before the game at 6:15.  The jv team will play at 4:15.
The boys soccer team plays at Miramonte HS.  JV at 4:15 and varsity at 6:15.

Yesterdays individual standouts…
Boys basketball Kevin Huber scored 19 points, with 5 3-pointers. Buster Souza scored 17 points. James Griffin scored 10 points, with 2 3-pointers.
Girls basketball Sophie Taylor scored 17 points, and had 11 rebounds and 5 steals. Olivia Murphy scored 17 points, and had 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Molly Martin scored 8 points, and had 7 steals.

Soccer – Boys Varsity – Two ties and one more week of play before NCS!

On Wednesday, Acalanes tied a strong Alhambra team 2-2 at home (DFAL). The Dons dominated most of the first period and were rewarded with a penalty kick converted by junior and captain Dan Glascock. 1-0 at the half. After the break, Alhambra took control of the game and scored twice to take the lead. In a difficult position, the Dons never lost hope and finally tied the game 4 minutes before the end by Glascock (his 14th goal of the season!) on a nice feed from senior Austin DeBack.
