JV Girls Volleyball Beats Alhambra: The Acalanes JV Girls Volleyball came roaring back Tuesday, with a victory over Alhambra 25-13, 25-14. The first game belonged to servers, with Julia Amaral and Sarah Rogers providing 16 of the 25 game points. Rachael Cox, Jen Lincoln and Amy Thomas added points with strategic kills. Danielle Grobeck and Blair Howard blocked attempts by the Bulldogs to score on the Dons, while the back row defense led by Josie Mueller let nothing drop.
Game two saw the Dons as a killing machine. Kills by Natalie Goepel, Rogers, Howard, Grobeck, Thomas and Cox showed slamming offense. The defensive line was strong with Ainsley Blandford, Sophia Takashima, Rogers and Goepel holding firm. Throughout the game, the Dons never lost the lead, closing the match out with Joanna Harnish. serving three aces in a row.
JV Volleyball Loses To Las Lomas: Acalanes JV Girls Volleyball lost to Las Lomas 25-20, 25-17. The Lady Dons offered up a tough offense with kills by Blair Howard, Danielle Grobeck, Jen Lincoln, Sarah Rogers, Rachael Cox and Amy Thomas. Service aces by Joanna Harnish and Grobeck added points to the scoreboard. However, even with key back row defense from Josie Mueller, Ainsley Blandford and Natalie Goepel, and blocks from Grobeck, Lincoln and Howard, the Knights took the match. Next up: The Lady Dons take on Miramonte at Miramonte on Thursday, October 14.
