Oct 27 – JV Girls Volleyball

The Acalanes Girls JV Team played Las Lomas at home and enjoyed a straight-set victory 25-10, 25-21. The Dons settled in quickly and took control of the first set with their serving and the team’s ability to consistently side out and convert free balls into points. Acalanes finished out the first set 25-10 with a strong serving run by Kaitlyn McKendall that included several aces.

In the second set, the pace slowed down and the teams traded the lead as they were tied 13-13 halfway through the set. After a couple of errors, the Dons found themselves down 13-17 which prompted a time out. After a quick side out, Acalanes was able to tie the match 17-17 behind effective serving from Elsa Clever.  The Dons then got behind again 20-21 but refocused and buckled down in their passing and defense and were able to close out the set 25-21 and win the match.

Acalanes is now 7-1 in league play and 15-3 overall for the season.  Go Dons!!
