Oct 22 – JV Girls Tennis: Acalanes 3 – Dublin 0

The Acalanes JV juggernaut rolled over the Dublin Gaels 3-0 in their house. Playing at D-1, Maddie McDonagh and Maggie Curless started the Acalanes scoring with an 8-1 win. Both Maddie and Maggie served well and controlled points at the net in nailing down the opening victory.

Sophia Scipi and Molly Cronk, at D-2, overcame some questionable line calls by focusing on their game and rolling to an 8-2 triumph. Despite this potential distraction, Molly and Sophia maintained their composure and controlled both the net and the backcourt on their way to victory.

Playing at D-3, Shannon McVay and Lauren Craig continued their winning ways by defeating their Dublin opponents 8-1. Shannon and Lauren communicated effectively on a number of points and played solidly both at the net and in the backcourt.

Since Dublin could only field three JV lines, captains Alexia Lucey and Lucy Nguyen agreed to play an exhibition set against a Dublin varsity team. Alexia and Lucy were opposed by a D-1 / D-4 team of varsity Gaels. Lucy and Alexia played a number of competitive points and deuce games in a great 2-6 effort.

The Lady Dons record improves to 8-4 overall and 6-3 against DFAL opponents.
