May 24 – Track & Field – NCS Meet of Champions – Trials
School records fall at the NCS Meet of Champions Trials held today at UC Berkeley
The varsity girls 4×100 team (Amy Hollshwandner, Casey Lee, Lisa Carrington, Jordan Hinds) set the Acalanes school record in the time of 48.96. The previous record was set in 1980!
Adler Faulkner set a new Acalanes school record in the 800 (1:54.36). Adler ran the fastest time in the trials. Both Adler and the girls relay will race again tomorrow in the finals and will have a chance to improve their record setting times. Both hope to finish in the top 3 on Saturday to qualify for the State Championship Meet.
Also qualifying for the finals tomorrow was Michael Wang in the 1600 (4:23.25).
Kelly Collins will compete in the 3200 on Saturday (no trials for this event, only finals)
Other varsity athletes that competed were:
Matt Thomas in the discus (158-00), placing 4th (one place away from qualifying for State)
Jordan Hinds in the 100 (12.80), placing 12th
Stephen Main in the Triple Jump (42-05.25), placing 15th
Alex Hennies in the 400 (50.95), placing 19th
