May 12 – Varsity Baseball clinches DFAL title with 10-0 record

The Dons JV baseball team improved to 16-6 after a 5-1 win over Dublin. Grant Smith picked up another win, allowing 1 earned run through 5 innings. Brian Merken pitched 2 shut out innings for the save. Offensively, Nick Henderson went 2 for 4 with a double
and an RBI. Robby Rowell went 2 for 2 with a triple and 2 RBI. Chris Armanino also had 2 hits and an RBI, and Brian Merken tripled and scored a run.

The Dons Varsity baseball squad clinched the DFAL title today after an 8-3 win over 2nd place Dublin.  Senior starter Grant Young pitched 5 and 1/3 innings, recorded 8 strikeouts, and had no walks. Ty Ewing and Ben Salquist combined for 3 strikeouts and closed out the final 2 innings. Jake Berry went 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored. Dons Catcher Paul Griessel had 2 hits including a run batted in. Will Rembac, Tom Henderson and Nick Taylor each had hits in the winning effort as the Dons improve to 20-2 overall and 10-0 in DFAL.  The Dons are ranked #3 overall in NCS behind De La Salle and Heritage.
