May 10 – Track & Field DFAL League Trials

I am doing something different this time.  I have attached the results of the trials in this email.  This way you can see how all the Acalanes student  athletes performed, and not just a few.  If you see a “q” next to their name, it means that they qualified for finals.  The field events were finals and what you see is the final result.

Some highlights that you can’t see;
Julia Lyons is now second on Acalanes all time performance list in the 100 and 200, to go along with her 2nd all-time in the long jump.

Muppy Gragg in her only third competition in the high jump went 4’10 with no misses to win the event.  But her second jump at 5’0 was 4” above the bar, but she was in front of the bar and ended up coming down on the bar as she descended.
Edward Groszewski qualified for finals in the 110 hurdles in his first season of track.
Christy Xie made a huge PR to finish 3rd and qualify for the NCS Tri-Valley Championships.
Mari Florine PR in the 400 in qualifying for finals
Brooke Lennox her best as a senior qualified in two events.
Windy Margerum ran her best 300 hurdle race since freshmen year, she also ran a PR in the 100 hurdles
Gavin Isbell came of an injury that has kept him from running for weeks, did not qualify but show guts and determination to finish third in his heat, just off his personal best.
Jesse Iniquez-Stralla time in the 200 is a PR
