Mar 8 – Track – Dan Gabor Distance Festival
On Friday afternoon and evening nearly 1,000 athletes competed in the Dan Gabor Distance Festival. This meet included just three races: 800, 1600 and 3200 for both boys and girls. Athletes run in heats with others that have comparable times. This produces many exciting races that come down to the wire.
Acalanes had 22 athletes that ran and there were some great results in this early season invitational.
First, Kelly Collins rocketed to the #2 spot on the Acalanes Girls Varsity All-Time list in the 3200. Kelly improved her time by 46 seconds!
Michael Wang, won the Boys race in the 1600. Also in the 1600, Freshman Cameron Gaskell, had the best time for freshman boys.
In the 800, Adler Faulkner placed 2nd.
Ros Dudakov and Amir Nowrouz both set new personal records (PR) for themselves in the 1600.
