Mar 29 – Girls Lacrosse win over Dublin

The Acalanes girls added to their win column in league play at Dublin High School on Tuesday night, extending their record to 3-1 against DFAL opponents.

The Lady Dons went ahead 2 to 1 six minutes in and never lost control of the game again. It was a breakout night for freshman Claire Gallagher. She put away four goals for the Dons, with three in the first half — including the initial go-ahead goal — to establish the lead. She also picked up a draw control and a loose ball for the team. Sophie Ross continued her strong offensive efforts for the Dons, with four goals, three on free position shots, two assists, and five draw controls. Marie Whitmore contributed on both sides of the field, with two goals and two assists, three draw controls, four loose balls and two caused turnovers. Kelcey Higgins and Susie Bush also forced turnovers from the Gaels. Julia Mueller added two goals, two draw controls, and picked up three loose balls. Anna DeRoque and Emma Workman rounded out the scoring for the Dons, and Emma Workman and Maddie Guzaitis each added an assist. Goalie Samantha Repstad had a scant three saves. Six of the nine Gael goals were on free position shots.

The Dons face Alhambra at home on Friday night at 7 to start off their spring break.
