Mar 11 – Girls Lacrosse

The Acalanes lacrosse team started to find its groove in a wind-driven cold rain on Friday night, making progress in critical areas like draw control and caused turnovers. Both on offense and defense, the girls started to open up their game against a talented group from Carondelet.

Sophie Ross and Julia Mueller each put up two goals. Ross dominated the draw with 7 draw controls, many of them put in the air by Ross herself. No other player had more than two in the game. Senior defender Sabrina Elliott had a breakthrough game with a caused turnover and three loose balls, and took advantage of those with good transitions up the field. Jenna Kisner, Marie Whitmore, and Ross also forced turnovers and picked up grounders to keep the Dons in control, with much more time spent with the ball on the Dons side this time out.

The Dons open league action at home on Tuesday at 7 against Dougherty Valley.
