Mar 1 – Boys Lacrosse NCS Championship Rematch

The Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse team faced their North Bay rival, Marin Catholic, on Tuesday afternoon. Acalanes and MC have met the past 3 years in the NCS Championship game with a record of 1-2. It always proves to be an exciting game when these two teams meet and Tuesday was no exception.

The 1st quarter appeared pretty evenly matched with MC scoring 3 goals and Acalanes 2. MC managed to build up steam and took off in the 2nd quarter scoring 7 goals and Acalanes just 1. Score at halftime was 3-10. Many would have thought the game was over for Acalanes, however the team dug deep, stepped up their game tremendously and outscored MC in both the 3rd quarter and 4th quarters. Entering the 3rd quarter with a score 8-12 and momentum on their side, Acalanes continued to charge MC and managed to score another 2 goals bringing the score to 10-12 with just a few minutes left in the game. Unfortunately, each MC possession managed to click precious time off the clock and, although valiant efforts were made for an exciting comeback, the clock ran out before the Dons were able to even the score. Final Score Dons 10 – 12 MC.

Leo Barakos, Nathan Brickman and Colin Jeffries each scored 2 goals. Michael Bone, Jake Landry, Matty Mariani and Jack Thoren scored 1 goal each. Assists came from Jack Thoren (3), Michael Bone (2), Grant Jackson (2), Daniel Agazzi (1).
