The Dons qualify for the NCS Final with a lot of class!
In probably their most accomplished game (defensively & offensively) of the season, the Dons defeated defending NCS champion Dublin 2-0 on Wednesday in the semi-finals to qualify for another championship game. Acalanes dominated the entire game, with excellent combinations upfront and the usual defensive rigor in the back. In a period of intense pressure from the hosts, senior & co-captain Nick Pereira scored an opportunist goal after 28′ in the first half. After the break, the Dons continued playing with a strong intensity and were finally rewarded with a beautiful second goal from junior David Dadiomov, assisted by junior & co-captain Dylan Autran. Contra Costa Times Athlete of the week, junior GK Jackson Foote was never really threatened but made a couple of courageous saves to keep a clean sheet. Acalanes will play another familiar opponent – Campolindo – in the NCS Final at Las Lomas on Saturday (5pm). Acalanes Sports fans, come and support the Dons for the “Big Game”! Go Dons!
