Boys Varsity Basketball hosts Washington (Fremont) at 7:00 PM Tonight in 1st Round NCS Playoff Action

The #5 seed Acalanes Dons host the #12 seed Washington Huskies of Fremont, tonight in the opening round of the NCS Division 2 boys basketball playoffs. The Dons ended their season with a 15 – 11 overall record and a 3 – 7 Diablo Athletic League record. Also, according to MaxPreps, Acalanes played the second highest strength of schedule of all NCS D2 schools at 16.8, with only Bishop O’Dowd slightly higher at 17.1. The Huskies ended their season with a 15 – 11 overall record and an 8 – 6 Mission Valley League record. According to MaxPreps, Washington’s strength of schedule was 8.6.

Playing at Acalanes will not be new to this Washington Huskies team. They played in this year’s 4th Annual Chris Huber Classic – Varsity Basketball Tournament – over the December holiday break. The Huskies won one game and lost two in The Classic. Your Dons won two games and lost only one, to Archbishop Riordan, in the Championship Game.

This should be an exciting first round NCS Playoff match-up. It is the #5 Dons vs. the #12 Huskies at Acalanes. The action will tip-off tonight at 7:00pm. The strategy for both teams is quite simple – Survive and Advance!

The winner of this game will play the winner of #13 seed Cardinal Newman vs. #4 seed Alameda on Friday February 23rd. (Location TBD)

Wear your Acalanes Blue and come out and cheer for your Boys Varsity Basketball Team.
