Dear Boosters, Parents and AHS Staff,
Track and Field is back for another season. Again the coaches and I, Coach Crain, would like to honor the performances of our student athletes. Unlike most other team sports we do not have a bench and athletes do not have to earn playing time. In track all athletes compete in meets regardless of ability, and all athletes regardless of ability improve throughout the year. This is the primary goal of every athlete on the team, and I feel it is important that these students are recognized for their efforts.
A “PR” stands for personal record. That is when an athlete has a better performance than any other they have had is a past. We track their performances throughout their career on the track team at Acalanes.
Individual PR’s for this past weekend at the Skyline Invitational are:
Johnny Choi Triple Jump 38’11 with a short approach
Andrew Federas 1600 6:18.26
Kevin Mlynek Ran his first two hurdle races with a 20.00 in the 110 and 45.79 in the 300 hurdles
