Apr 28 – Dons fall to DeLaSalle in a close game

Tuesday night’s game against DeLaSalle was a nail biter at times and the Dons gave it a good fight, but ultimately lost with a final score of 7 to 9. Overall, the teams appeared evenly matched with completed clears, forced turnovers and a few mistakes coming from both sides. The score at halftime was 3 to 6 with DeLaSalle ahead. Even though the Dons outscored the Spartans in the 2nd half, it just wasn’t enough.

Adrian Jeffries had 2 goals with 1 assist, Nathan Brickman had 2 goals. Sam deRoque, Chris Greer and Chris Lane each had 1 goal. Taylor Howell and Luke Olson both put up great assists. The Dons had plenty of chances to score with various players taking a total of 25 shots that were either blocked or just simply missed the net.

The Defense worked tirelessly with several players forcing Spartan turnovers including Josh Baginski, Sam deRoque, Glenn Johnston, Vinny Gladden and Brian Maiken.

Goalie Danny Ennis had 4 saves in the first half and Nate Welcomer had 6 saves in the second half.

The Dons travel to Orinda on Friday to play Miramonte. Game starts at 7pm. Fan support is much appreciated!
