Dec 3 – Acalanes Girls Volleyball Wins State Championship

Incredible! Yes, the girls volleyball team is the 2016 division 3 CIF State Champions. They went ahead 2-0 winning 25-13 and 28-26. Crossroads HS rallied to win the next two games 25-22 and 25-17. The girls found themselves behind in the fifth game, but kept their composure and had a rally of their own to pull out the 16-14 victory. Congratulations to Elsa Clever, Roxy Cummings, Samantha Darin, Melissa Elliott, Rachel Go, Devin Grobeck, Grace Higgins, Parker Jones, Maddie Kalil, Alex Matson, Kaitlyn McKendell, Zoe McPhail, Sarah Nelson, Theresa Nevins, Madi Risch, Lane Webster and coaches Ernie Rodriguez, Shari Rodriguez and Jim Changaris. Parker Jones was most deserving of the Most Outstanding Player of the Championship Game. This event is historic. It is only the second team state championship in the long history of Acalanes High School, which dates back to the 1940s. Great job girls. We are very proud of you.
