Congratulations to Lady Dons Basketball

JV took 2nd place in the Pittsburg High School, Lady Pirates 4th Annual JV tournament. It was our 1st appearance in the tournament this year and there was some tough competition. Our JV team pulled out some impressive, yet tough wins against Colfax on Thursday and Pittsburg on Friday to play for the Championship on Sat.

We faced off against a strong Monte Vista team who beat the competition the night before by scoring over 50 points. Our strong defensive down low held Monte Vista to only 29 points, but in the end, we fell short, taking 2nd place with a 23-29 score. We are so proud of our girls for how hard they played in a well matched game. A special congratulations to Sydney Louie, Sabina Patel and Kailey Meyer for being selected by Pittsburg to the All Tournament Team.

JV leads their season with a very impressive 3-2 start and is looking to improve last year’s overall record of 20-6 and repeat their DFAL JV record of 12-0. Congratulations Lady Dons JV Basketball.

A very big congratulations to our Lady Dons Varsity Basketball! These ladies started their season with a mission and a goal and they are running straight thru the competition to achieve it.

Our Varsity girls took 1st Place in the San Francisco, Lincoln High School Mustang Classic. The competition was fierce and our Lady Dons were definitely out to make a statement. We beat Immaculate Conception on Thursday, 65-13 to face off against a tough Lincoln High on Friday. Our ladies were able to pull out another impressive win and defeated Lincoln High School, 67-39 to play for the Championship game on Sat against Amador Valley.

The Amador Valley game was a perfect match up. The teams battled it out on the court, going toe-to-toe throughout the game. But in the end our Lady Dons came out victorious defeating Amador Valley 47-44 and won the Championship. A special congratulations goes to Roni Marrone & Emma Godfey for winning All Tournament Team and to Julia Lyons for winning MVP.

Our Lady Dons Varsity Basketball Team starts their season with an impressive 5-0 start making a bold and fierce statement “Look out DFAL! We’re coming!”
