Jeremy Ridge finished in the top 12 at the California State Wrestling Championships in Bakersfield this weekend. Jeremy is the first Acalanes wresters to ever win a match at the state Championships. During the tournament he defeated the state’s 12, 13, 16, and 24th wrestlers and lost in sudden overtime victory to the 8th and 9th wrestlers. He was also honored as one of the winners of the CIF Sportsmanship “Pursuing Victory with Honor” Award. The athletes receiving the award are observed during the tournament and are judged on trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Jeremy was awarded a medal and his name is added to the winners of the award in the California State Wrestling Championship permanent record. He finished the season with a record of 51-9.
