Nov 26 – Boys Soccer Results

Acalanes 4, Freedom 1
The boys added to their opening tournament win with a comprehensive display against Freedom.

Acalanes opened the scoring after 7 minutes with a terrific back headed goal by senior Lenny Adkerson, assisted by senior Graham Lindgren, off a long throw in.  Freedom answered back in the 16th minute when junior forward, Adrian Cruz, walked through Acalanes defense to score leaving sophomore goalie, Eric Sirott, no chance.  The Acalanes defense was culpable for ball watching, however for the balance of the match Acalanes defense played terrifically, limiting Freedom to long range shots all of which were handled well by Sirott.  On the half hour, junior, Max Mirner scored off a second Lindgren assist.

2-1 for Acalanes at halftime

After the break Acalanes scored twice to put the game to rest.  Senior Patrick Lundgren, played the ball to Adkerson, who scored his second with a deft shot to the far post, followed by a second goal for Mirner, assisted by Adkerson.   Acalanes played well all evening, outside of the one goal conceded their defense was solid, the midfield was well organized and provided the necessary service to enable the forwards to do their job, overall a good team performance.  Acalanes are now 2-0 in the tournament.

Next up, Acalanes v Ygnacio Valley, Wednesday,  Nov 28, 4:30 PM
