The Lady Dons fell to Abbotsford of British Columbia Friday night in the second-round of the West Coast Jamboree.
Abbotsford assumed control early thanks to stellar three-point shooting and outstanding guard play. At the half the Lady Dons were down 31 to 21, but the girls battled back and cut the deficit to 31 to 30 in the 3rd quarter. From there Abbotsford went on a tear from deep and finished with a comfortable 58 to 39 victory.
Our girls battled hard short-handed, but were not able to overcome a first-half knee injury to Kaylee Pond. Lauren Kobashigawa (12) and Grace Gebhardt (11) were the high scorers.
The girls play Arbor View of Nevada for 3rd place today at 4:30.
The Lady Dons opened the first-round of the West Coast Jamboree with a 68 to 44 victory over Cloverdale. After a back and fourth first half, the girls took a 5 point lead into the locker room. The second half was a different story with the Dons immediately seizing control thanks to lock down defense and outside shots starting to fall. With the win the girls improve to 10 and 1 on the season. Lauren Kobashigawa was the high scorer with 17, while Lauren Frechman added 16, Kaylee Pond scored 11, Sydney Louie dropped 10 and Grace Gebhardt had 9. The girls are back in action this evening for round two versus Abbotsford of British Columbia at 5:30 at Amador Valley High School.
The Varsity team found themselves in a very close game from start to finish with De Anza HS and in the end, they prevailed 49-47 in the Chris Huber Classic. JV team led the entire game until the very end in a heart-breaking defeat to Las Lomas HS in the San Ramon Valley tournament. Freshman team defeated Menlo-Atherton HS in overtime in the Dougherty Valley tournament.

The Lady Dons improved to 9 and 1 Thursday night with a 69 to 36 victory over Mission San Francisco.
The girls wasted no time asserting control taking a commanding 15 to 4 lead after 1 quarter and 31 to 9 halftime lead. The Dons then cruised the rest of the way for a comfortable victory. Kaylee Pond was the point leader with 20 and also recorded a double-double, Lauren Frechman added 14, Grace Gebhardt tallied 11, and Lauren Kobashigawa scored 10.
The girls now get a short break before starting the big West Coast Jamboree Tournament Thursday at Amador Valley High School.
used a complete team effort to overwhelm Vacaville HS 76-43 and raise their overall record to 8-1. Kaylee Pond had a triple double that included 14 points. Lauren Frechman scored 19 points, Gabby Schneider 18 points, Lauren Kobashigawa 15 points and Sydney Louie was the lock down defender.

The Lady Dons went on the road Tuesday night and recorded a 76 to 43 victory over Vacaville. It was the girls highest scoring game of the season, as the transition game and ball movement were firing on all cylinders. Kaylee Pond was dominant on both sides of the floor with a triple-double. The scoring was balanced with Lauren Frechman leading the way with 19, Gabby Schneider with 18, Lauren Kobishgawa had 15, Kaylee Pond with 14 and Grace Gebhardt with 8. Sydney Louie was a standout on the defensive side of the ball with constant pressure on the Vacaville guards. With the victory the girls improved to 8 and 1 on the season. Next up is Mission of San Francisco Thursday night at home.
