The Dons faithful came out in force to cheer on their team and to celebrate their 15 seniors. The game was hard fought and saw a great defensive stance by both teams. Miramonte struck first in the closing minutes of the first half to make it 1-0 going into halftime. The second half saw much of the same with both goalies pulling in great saves and keeping the half scoreless. In the final five minutes of the game, the Dons put 6 shots on goal only to come up empty. With 2:20 left in the game, the Mats put the game away with a 2nd goal in the closing minutes.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL- SENIOR NIGHT IS TONIGHT!

Acalanes Boys Varsity Basketball Team Celebrates Senior Night Tonight vs. College Park

Senior Night starts at 6:30 pm. Varsity game at 7:00 p.m. JV plays at 5:30 pm.

The Acalanes Dons Boys Varsity Basketball Team (15-9) hosts the College Park Falcons (18-5) tonight in the final home league game of the 2017-18 season. Tip-off will take place at 7:00pm. Before the tip-off of tonight’s contest, there will be a ceremony to recognize the twelve senior student athletes on this year’s team. This is an unusually large number of seniors to have on one team. However, the experience and maturity that these twelve seniors have brought to this season’s team has allowed us to overcome a series of devastating injuries to key contributors. Even with these injuries, this team has put itself in a position to possibly host a NCS first round playoff game. A win against the College Park Falcons would go a long way to seal that NCS seed needed to earn a first round home playoff game. Acalanes will look to avenge an earlier loss this season to College Park (at College Park), 60-54, back on January 23rd. It was a game that the team believes slipped through their fingers in the 4th quarter..

Please arrive at 6:30pm to catch the 4th quarter of the JV game versus College Park. Then join us as we celebrate the hard work and dedication that these student athletes gave to the Acalanes Boys Basketball Program. If you cannot attend the Senior Night celebration this evening, here is the list of the twelve seniors on this year’s varsity team (in alphabetical order): (1.) Andrew Che, (2.) Carter Diaz, (3.) Carson Etnyre, (4.) Ethan Fox, (5.) John Leamy, (6.) Aidan McNamara, (7.) Ryan Nall, (8) Nick Price, (9.) Robby Rowell, (10.) Gavin Shipp, (11.) Mitchell Smith and (12.) Trevor Stripling.

Thank you SENIORS!!!

As always…Go Dons!!!
