Mar 3 – Track and Field, East Bay Invitational

On Saturday, March 3, the Track and Field team competed in the East Bay Invitational at Monte Vista HS.  There were quite a few good results such as:
Annie Marggraff, 2nd in the Varsity 1600 m
Amy Hollshwandner, 4th in the Varsity 1600 m
Varsity Girls, 3rd in the 4×400 m
Brianna Wilkinson, 4th in the Varsity Shot Put and Discus
Shelby Johnston, 5th in the Frosh/Soph Pole Vault
Adler Faulkner, 4th in the Varsity 1600 m
George Liow, 3rd in the Varsity 110 m Hurdles
Michael Wang, 2nd in the Frosh/Soph 1600 m
Alex Hennies, 4th in the Frosh/Soph 3oo m Hurdles
Andrew Bertics, 1st in the Frosh/Soph Pole Vault
Girls Varsity finished 6th overall

Mar 5 – Lacrosse, Softball, and Golf results

In Fridays action…
The boys lacrosse team defeated Granite Bay HS 15-6.
The girls lacrosse team was defeated by California HS 17-14.  The jv team won 14-10.
The boys golf team defeated Las Lomas HS 207-213 to raise their overall record to 4-1 and 2-0 in the DFAL.

In Saturdays action…
The softball team defeated San Leandro HS and lost to Terra Nova HS.

In todays action…
The jv baseball team hosts Livermore HS at 3:30.
The jv boys golf team has a match against Piedmont HS at Claremont CC at 3:00.

NorCal basketball championships…
The girls basketball team will play at Modesto Christian HS Wednesday at 7:00 in the first round of the NorCal Championships.

Individual standouts…
Boys lacrosse – Jack Mariani scored 3 goals. Wes Greason scored 2 goals and had 3 assists. Robbie Stern scored 2 goals and had 2 assists. Adam Lee scored 2 goals and had an assist. Matt Quinn scored 2 goals. David Reiling had 18 saves.
Girls lacrosse  – Courtney Neff scored 8 goals. Kate Fellner scored 3 goals. Niki Quinn scored 2 goals and had an assist. Alex Whitcomb had 6 saves.
Boys golf – Will Brueckner and Ryan West each shot 37, Chris Childers and Connor Goodheart each shot 43 on a 9-hole par 36 course.

Mar 2 – Baseball Results

In Thursdays action…
The baseball team opened the season with a victory over Analy HS 12-3.  Spencer Henderson was the winning pitcher, and went 2 for 3, with 3 RBIs and a double.  AJ Welshwent 3 for 4, with 2 doubles.  John went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.

In Fridays action…

The boys lacrosse team hosts Granite Bay HS.  JV at 5:30, varsity at 7:30.
The girls lacrosse team play at California HS.  JV at 5:30, varsity at 7:00.
The boys tennis team has a match against Las Lomas HS.  Varsity is away at 3:00, jv is home at 4:00.
The boys golf team has a match against Las Lomas HS at Rossmoor GC at 3:30.

In Saturdays action…
The baseball team plays at Half Moon Bay HS.  Varsity at 12:00, jv at 3:00.
The freshman baseball team  hosts Hayward Prep HS in a doubleheader at 11:00.
The varsity and jv softball teams play San Leandro HS and Terra Nova HS at San Leandro HS.
The track and field team competes in the East Bay Invitational at Monte Vista HS at 8:00 am.
The jv boys lacrosse team competes in the Alhambra Jamboree.

Feb 29-Softball Results

In yesterdays action…
The softball team defeated Terra Linda HS 7-1.
The girls lacrosse team was defeated by Carondelet HS.

In todays action…
The girls basketball team plays Bishop O’Dowd HS in the NCS semifinals at Chabot College at 6:30.
The track & field team has a meet at Granada HS at 3:30.
The boys golf team has a match against Foothill HS at Castlewood CC at 2:30.

Yesterdays individual standouts…
Softball – Natalie Goepel was the winning pitcher raising her record to 3-1, with 6 strikeouts and had a triple. Mia Monopoli went 3 for 4, with a homerun and 3 RBIs. Katelyn Palma went 2 for 3, with 3 RBIs and a run scored.

Feb 27 – Basketball / Softball results and Monday games

In Fridays action…
The girls basketball team defeated Analy HS 57-52 to advance to the NCS Semifinals.  They will play Bishop O’Dowd HS Wednesday, February 29 at 6:30 at Chabot College.
The boys basketball team was defeated by El Cerrito HS 51-49 in the NCS quarterfinals.
The softball team defeated Marin Catholic HS 7-0.

In todays action…
The jv boys golf team has a match against Deer Valley HS at Deer Ridge GC at 3:00.

Fridays individual standouts…
Girls basketball – Sophie Taylor scored 24 points, with 10 rebounds and 7 steals. Grace Francis had 4 rebounds and 3 steals. Molly Martin scored 4 points and had 6 rebounds.
Boys basketball – Kevin Huber scored 13 points, with 2 3-pointers. Buster Souza scored 12 points.

Softball – Mia Monopoli was the winning pitcher throwing a complete game 1-hitter with 9 strikeouts, and went 3 for 4, with a 2 run home run. Terri Taylor went 4 for 4, with 2 RBIs.

Feb 23 – Lady Dons Softball

The Dons lost 3-2 in seven innings to Encinal High in Alameda on Wednesday, despite out-hitting their opponent six hits to two.
The Dons were unable to overcome a two-run first inning deficit.
The Dons scored their first run on a four bagger by Madison Maderious in the third inning and got another run across in the sixth inning on a triple by Mia Monopoli.
Monopoli went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Acalanes Dons. Monopoli singled in the first and third innings and then tripled in the sixth inning.
Natalie Goepel showed good command, as she threw strikes on 60 of her 106 pitches. Goepel collected seven strike outs for the Dons.
In the final inning, the Dons had runners on first and second with two outs when Terri Taylor hit a shot up the middle that was knocked down by the opposing pitcher who was able to throw out Taylor by half a step.

Feb 24 – Another match win for golf, NCS this weekend

In Thursdays action…
The boys golf team defeated Pittsburg HS 197-247. Chris Childers shot a 34, Will Brueckner 37, and Kennedy Kim 40 on a 9-hole, par 36 course.

In Fridays action…
The girls basketball team is the #4 seed in the NCS playoffs and will host #5 Analy HS in the quarterfinals at 7:00.
The boys basketball team is the #5 seed in the NCS playoffs and will play at #4 El Cerrito HS in the quarterfinals at 7:00.
The softball team hosts Marin Catholic HS at 4:00.
The boys lacrosse team has a scrimmage at Foothill HS. JV at 5:00, varsity at 7:00.
The jv boys golf team has a match against Dublin HS at Rossmoor GC at 3:30.

There is a charge at all NCS playoff events.  General admission is $9, and students with student body cards, children and senior citizens are $6.

In Saturdays action…
NCS Wrestling Championships at Newark Memorial HS. Andrew Mesetz, Andrew Nakahara and Aaron Shaffer compete in the NCS Wrestling Championships at Newark Memorial HS.
The track & field team has a meet at Kimball HS in Tracy at 10:00.
The jv softball team hosts Pittsburg HS at 10:00.
The freshman baseball team plays at Livermore HS in a doubleheader at 11:00.

Feb 23 – Acalanes wins Golf Match and barely misses in Softball

In yesterdays action…
The boys golf team defeated Dougherty Valley HS 193-221.
The softball team was defeated by Encinal HS 3-2.

In todays action…
The boys golf team has a match against Pittsburg HS at Delta View GC at 3:00.

Yesterdays individual standouts…
Will Brueckner shot a 35, Chris Childers and Ryan West 38, and Jon Gonser 41 over a 9-hole par 36 course.
