Taylor Hill, running the 1600M in the rain.

This past Saturday the track and field team competed in Dan Gabor Invitational at Amador High School. The meet offered just six running events and four field events, but they had 87 heats of 400’s (339 athletes), 109 heats of 100’s (365 athletes), 28 heats of 1600, 27 heats of 800’s, and those just are the running events we competed in.

These events are one big time trial. What we as a staff are looking for, is how is our progress to date compares to last year, and can we compete.  The staff is happy with the results … for the most part our times are comparative to last year’s times for returning athletes, and our new athletes showed that they are willing to compete in races.

We had several athletes compete and finish in the top three in their heat. We had four girls in the top twenty in the 400, we set a meet record in the long jump, and we had 46 season or personal records set at this meet. See full results
