Mar 7 – Boys JV LAX beats Las Lomas

The men’s JV lacrosse team beat Los Lomas 9 to 5 on Tuesday night.

Acalanes came out to an early 2-0 lead on goals by Renn Standberg and Tucker Loughran-Smith. The defense played well forcing many turnovers. Acalanes possessed the ball the majority of the half and led 3-1 at half time.

In the second half Los Lomas got off 2 quick goals in first 2 minutes on a broken play and a fast break. Acalanes then woke up and scored often. Oliver Rotundo had some great saves and foiled one fast break by coming out of goal and checking a wide open attack man just off the crease forcing the turn over.

Big hits in 2nd half by Teo Barakos and Leo Cohen pushed momentum to Acalanes.

Charlie Bettencourt had a nice unassisted goal, Standberg issued a beautiful assist to Loughran Smith to seal the game. Standberg and Loughran Smith each had 4 goals on the night and Bettencourt with 1.

The JV team is now 2-0 and continue play on Thursday night at Piedmont at 5:30 pm.
